After Hours: Wreck the Runway
701 21st St., NW
The museum is partnering with Remake D.C. and D.C. Goodwill to celebrate the opening of Source Material: Lessons in Responsible Fashion with a community-driven event that embodies responsible fashion and the DIY spirit of Washington, D.C. The evening will feature the music of cellist Janel Leppin and guitarist Anthony Pirog, setting the perfect backdrop for a night dedicated to reuse and sustainable fashion in the DMV area. Attendees can explore the Source Material exhibition and participate in the “Wreck the Runway” fashion show, where they can showcase their best thrift finds, beloved hand-me-downs, or upcycled creations. The only rule? #NoNewClothes. Food and drinks will be provided by Empanadas de Mendoza and Lost Generation Brewing Company, with offerings available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
