Astro Doughnuts & Fried Chicken: Fall Collaboration Series

This fall, Astro Doughnuts & Fried Chicken will team up with local restaurants for a special chef collaboration series. Doughnuts will be available at Astro’s DC and Shirlington locations, with a portion of proceeds from each sale donated to charity organizations.  

The first iteration of the series kicks off with Cane. Throughout the month, the doughnut shop will offer the Rum Cake Doughnut ($5.50), an ode to traditional Caribbean cuisine made with Astro’s classic cake doughnut, dark rum, coconut flakes, and warm Caribbean spices such as nutmeg, cinnamon, and clove. The doughnut pays homage to Cane’s owner-and-operator Jeanine Prime’s Trinidadian heritage, and a portion of proceeds from each doughnut sale will be donated to Sister Mentors, a nonprofit dedicated to advancing equity and justice for women and girls of color.
