Casa Kantuta Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

Casa Kantuta will be celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month every tuesday until October 15th. Lou Bernard, beverage director of Casa Kantuta put a stellar program together to highlight D.C. Latinx restaurant workers to mark Hispanic Heritage Month by making specialty cocktails representing Latin America throughout the month.

Their kick off event is on Sept 15th with guests, Carlos Mendez, top mezcal producer and Brother of a women owned mezcaleria  Cruz De Fuego in Mexico and bartender, Daniel Sanchez  from El Destino & Andres Crespo Kantutas own.

The Schedule is as follow:
Celebrating Brazil: Sept 19th, Cachaca cocktails by by Steven Ramirez from The Royal.

Celebrating Puerto Rico and El Salvador: Sept 26th, guest bartender Jessy Merano representing Puerto Rico & Kantuta’s own Kevin Rivas representing El Salvador.

Celebrating Colombia: October 3rd Joe Borrow beverage director of The Royal Representing Colombia, Erin EIV beverage director of Chicken & whiskey & Doi Moi representing Puerto Rico.

Celebrating Bolivia: October 10th it will be Clint from Silver Lyan & Lou Bernard (Casa Kantuta’s beverage director) Representing Bolivia.

Celebrating Beliz: Jan Gabourel from Silver Lyan repressing Beliz and Al Thompson from Dominican Republic Sunday, October 15th from 1:00 - 9:00 p.m. Sunday DJ /Day party to close Hispanic Heritage month.
