The Bit, a subterranean cocktail den located beneath Capitol Hill’s Barrel, has officially opened. From the ownership team behind neighborhood favorites The Eastern and Barrel, The Bit centers around cocktails from lead bartender Decker Beasley. His menu serves as both a love letter to DC and to the people in his life who helped bring him to this moment. The intimate 32-seat space reflects the team’s personal stories and their vision for the kind of bar they have always wanted to create: one where great cocktails and hospitality meet in a warm, relaxed atmosphere. Beasley’s cocktail menu pays homage to the people and places that have influenced his life and shaped the way he approaches bartending.
