Chasing Festivals is a year-long global dining series at The Shell, where each month brings to life an iconic celebration from around the world through an immersive, chef-led experience. Guests are transported to different corners of the globe, indulging in the sights, sounds, and flavors of renowned festivals—from the pulsating energy of Brazil’s Carnival to the serene glow of Thailand’s Loy Krathong, the brilliance of Diwali, and the icy elegance of Japan’s Sapporo Snow Festival. Each event offers more than a meal—it’s a cultural escape, one festival at a time. Kicking off the series is La Tomatina, the legendary tomato-throwing festival from Buñol, Spain. Rooted in mid-20th-century tradition, this lively celebration began when a group of spirited youth playfully pelted tomatoes during a local parade. The spontaneous chaos became a beloved annual event, and now, The Shell honors this vibrant history with a night of Spanish flair. Transforming the venue into a festive Spanish landscape, the evening features a special menu curated by Guest Chef Ruben Garcia of Casa Teresa.
