Desfile de Faroles at The Roost

On Friday, September 12, from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, The Roost will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with a vibrant cultural tradition from Costa Rica—the Desfile de Faroles (Lantern Parade). Guests of all ages are invited to begin lantern crafting at 6:00 p.m. before joining a glowing lantern parade at 8:00 p.m. through The Roost. Honoring Costa Rica’s Independence Day, this cherished tradition symbolizes freedom and unity, with lanterns often shaped like traditional houses, oxcarts, or national symbols. By bringing the Desfile de Faroles to DC, The Roost creates a heartwarming opportunity for the community to come together, celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, and share in the beauty of Costa Rican culture.
