Educate, Liberate, Celebrate
3425 Sinclair Lane, Baltimore MD
The highly celebrated, Baltimore-based H3irloom Food Group will present a special edition of their beloved dining experiences in celebration of Juneteenth: an open-air dinner themed Educate, Liberate, Celebrate on Saturday, June 11th at The Sinclair in Baltimore, MD. H3irloom Executive Chefs David and Tonya Thomas—alongside renowned author, culinary historian, and educator Michael W. Twitty as a special guest and griot for the evening—will guide you through a seven-course meal with accompanying wine pairings, sharing the cultural significance of each course. Utilizing live-fire cooking, Chefs David and Tonya will pay homage to the ancestry of Black food traditions and forgotten foodways, while pushing the narrative forward with an aspirational approach to what is commonly thought of as African American cuisine. The color red, which customarily accompanies Juneteenth celebrations, is incorporated throughout the menu, including housemade 'red-red' sauce, smoked watermelon, and hot pickled strawberries, to name a few—many of which are indigenous to Maryland, and are utilized in their entirety with a dedicated 'waste not' mentality. Tickets, which are all-inclusive of food & drink, are available for $240 per person. Saturday, June 11th, from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. For tickets and more information, please click here.
