Hip-Hop Block Party Hosted by the National Museum of African American History and Culture

The National Museum of African American History and Culture is hosting a star-studded block party in celebration of hip-hop and rap music at the first anniversary of the Smithsonian Anthology of Hip-Hop and Rap. Daytime and evening sessions will host performances by local and national talent, as well as presentations and activities that explore hip-hop origins, elements and cultural influences. The daytime sesstion will feature discussion panels, a dance workshop, a DMV showcase, and a book talk - not to mention the performances, between 10:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. The evening session includes a Live Mixtape session from J. Period with special guests, The Halluci Nation, and a dance party from 6:00 p.m. to midnight.
