Jack Rose Dining Saloon Celebrates National Rum Day
2007 18th Street NW
Although Jack Rose Dining Saloon is known for its unparalleled whisk(e)y collection, the award-winning bar boasts an extensive collection of all spirits, including rum, and will celebrate National Rum Day with a lively evening of tropical festivities. On the sunny open-air terrace, guests can enjoy $10 classic rum cocktails, premium rum tasting flights, half-priced summer grill bites, and the live sounds of steel drum music. Jack Rose’s talented bar team will serve up classic rum cocktails for just $10, ranging from the Daiquiri, Old Cuban, Cuba Libre and Rum Old Fashioned (rum aficionados can upgrade to the “Baller” Rum Old Fashioned made with Bacardi Gran Reserva Diez for $16). Premium tasting flights of Bacardi Rum will also be available for $24, exploring aged expressions ranging from 4 to 10 years in the barrel. Jack Rose’s rooftop pit grill will be fired up, doling out half-priced summer bites such as Street Corn drizzled with crema, chilies, cheese, cilantro and fresh lime ($3); Jerk Wings coated in allspice, chilies and garlic ($6.50); yakitori-style Shrimp Skewers ($7.50); and Lamb Merguez Sliders topped with pickled red onion and harissa aioli ($6.50). Tropical tunes will keep island vibes high throughout the evening, but from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m., a live steel drum player will perform the traditional sounds of the Caribbean. Jack Rose's National Rum Celebration is free to attend and open to the public from 5:00 to 11:00 p.m.
