NRG’s annual Novemberfest will return to Alexandria, VA on Saturday, November 13th, to a new location, the Evening Star Cafe. The outdoor block party will feature a mix of Virginia and domestic producers culled by Beverage Director Greg Engert, including rarities from Halfway Crooks, Keeping Together, and Vitamin Sea, alongside local favorites The Answer, Other Half, Triple Crossing & The Veil. Expect strong ales, classic lagers, hop-forward brews of countless kinds, delicious sours, and barrel-aged beers galore. Red Apron and Hi/Fi Taco chef + butcher Nathan Anda has BBQ covered for the day, with a mouthwatering menu of valentina & honey glazed pork belly burnt ends, wagyu brisket taco, smoked pulled pork shoulder sandwich, and lots more alongside classic fare. Sapidus Farms will be shucking their happy oysters, and Pastry Chef Allie Cheppa will have plenty of Buzz Bakeshop and State Fair seasonal sweets on offer. Plus, live music from local musicians along with plenty of games and activities will be on-hand for the whole family. To celebrate the end of harvest season, Wine Director Erin Dudley has curated twenty responsibly sourced local and domestic wines for a wine tasting and bottle sale. NRG has selected a wide range of wines from their favorite American winemakers, including Lightwell Survey, Thibaut-Jannisson, Slo Down Wines, Secret Squirrel, and much more. Meanwhile, Spirits Director Nick Farrell has crafted seasonal Show of Hands cocktails for the occasion. All ticket-holders will be able to shop Novemberfest wines and bottled cocktails. A portion of the proceeds from Novemberfest will benefit Arcadia Center for Sustainable Food & Agriculture, the local nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a more equitable and sustainable local food system in the Washington, DC area. Advance tickets are available online for $25 per perseon and include twenty food & drink tickets and admission. You are encouraged to purchase in advance to ensure entry and avoid lines at the door. Day-of admission is $10 at the door, and all food & drink offerings will be priced individually during the event with tickets sold a la carte ($1 = one ticket). Kids under 14 are free.
