“Nightmare on U Street” at Whitlow’s

Whitlow’s will present  “Nightmare on U Street” on Halloween night beginning at 9:00 p.m. with live music, specialty drinks and a $500 prize for best costume.

DJKillaBeats 24 will be spinning the scary tunes on the three-story bar’s rooftop and popular local band, Turtle Recall, will be set up on the second floor.

Those who arrive between 9:00 and 10:00 p.m. get a free Jello shot. The best costume will be awarded $500.

BOO-zy drinks to scare off the ghosts and goblins are the “Kick in the Glass” made with tequila, Lychee liqueur and tang orange; The “Red Night” with vodka, hibiscus, simple syrup and house-made sour mix; and the “Purple Rain” made with rum, concord grape juice and ginger beer.
