The Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of Asian Art will host its annual Nowruz Family Festival on Saturday, March 14, from 11:00 AM–4:00 PM. The free, family-friendly celebration honors Nowruz—the Persian “new day” marking the first day of spring and the vernal equinox—with storytelling, hands-on activities, and food available for purchase. Guests can also view a traditional haft-seen table in the museum’s West Building (Freer Gallery of Art), symbolizing renewal and new life.
