Born and raised in Northern Virginia, Briana Hertzog graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a BFA in Communication Arts. She focuses her creative endeavors on illustration while simultaneously developing her personal body of work. Hertzog’s fine art is influenced by her background in illustration. Her works are described as playful, whimsical narratives and her art has been published in multiple books and magazines including Richmond Magazine and North American Review. Hertzog’s personal work focuses on the female experience which revolves around themes of self-acceptance, love, and feminism. She currently lives and works in Falls Church. Reign is Hertzog’s first solo show, and guests can look forward to experiencing her fanciful paintings of queens and their subjects. The narratives in her paintings are an alluring escape from the mundane, displaying bright colors and eccentric imagery.
