CASA TERESA

Openings

919 9th Street NW

Renowned Chef Rubén Garcia has opened the first concept under his own brand, Casa Teresa. Named after his great grandmother Teresa Espinosa Moreno, Casa Teresa showcases his heritage and ancestral recipes and honors the open-fire kitchen traditions of Spain. Meals are served family-style, with options such as fish and large-format grilled meats, as well as hyper-local vegetable dishes. A jamon cart, tinned seafood, slow-cooked stews from family recipes, cheese, vermouth, sherry, and wines are also a main focus. Some menu highlights guests can get excited for include Las Croquetas de la Dolors, Escalivada Catalana, Pescado del Dia, and much more. The wine program at Casa Teresa is led by Wine Director Sarah Vangas, and it takes guests on a sensory expedition through Spain's dynamic terroirs. Casa Teresa has put an emphasis mainly on wines sourced from women-owned or operated wineries. The space features a dining room that seats up to 98 guests, a central bar that seats up to 32 guests, and a chef's table that seats up to 12 guests. For more information, click here.
