American Landmark is a bibliography of Charles Duell, who inherited his family's home, and the challenges he endured as he attempted to preserve the history living within the houses walls. The book chronicles the evolution of man, the place, and the vital mission of the Foundation Duell created, weaving together the myriad of biographical stories of protagonists associated with Middleton Place for the last three centuries.
Join Woodlawn & Pope-Leighey House as they host Virginia Christian Beach, author of American Landmark, for a lecture and candid discussion about the historic interpretation of the book. Book sales and signing will be available after the talk.
Beverages and light snacks will be provided. Masks are required indoors. Admission is free, but donations to support Woodlawn & Pope-Leighey's interpretation and education programs are greatly appreciated. The evening will begin at 6:00 p.m.
