Capital Wine School is hosting a Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level 2 Awards in Wines 3-day in-person course for those looking to add to their wine knowledge accolades. Included in the price of a ticket are all WSET study materials, 3 fullday sessions guided by a WSET Diploma certified instructor, wine tasting samples, the final exam, and postage for mailing of study materials, certificates and lapel pins. Tasting samples will be selected by Jay Youmans, MW. The focus of the course is key grape varieties and regions of the world, including factors affecting wine quality and style, grape growing, and basic winemaking practices, with an emphasis on tasting assessment and skills required for describing aromas and tastes of wine.
Participants who register on or before August 4th will be able to choose between taking a paper-exam August 21st (the last day of class) or an online exam with remote invigilation on September 10th at 10:00 a.m. The exam consists of 50 multiple choice questions, and those who pass will receive the WSET Level 2 Award in Wines, an internationally recognized redential in the wine industry.
Registration for the course is available for purchase for $695 per seat and does not include lunch on each day of class (participants must bring their own lunch or visit a local eatery).
