When:

Where:
The Building Museum
401 F Street NW, Washington DC
INTERSECTIONS: Where Diversity, Equity and Design Meet brings Black voices in design, art and architecture to the Museum as part of the ongoing series Equity in the Built Environment. The exhibit hopes to foster dynamic discussions about culture, equity and representation in the build world through the lens of design, and in the larger scope of equity, social justice and the built environment. Intersections will launch September 16th and run through December 14th, displaying collections from nationally recognized Black architects, designers and artists.

On September 16th, founder of OffTop Desgin, Demar Matthews, will open the season with a presentation addressing how archtecture amplifies or silences perspectives and narratives and questions if and how buildings, streets and landscapes serve to affirm identity and define community. The in-person event is $15 per person (member price) or $10 per person (student price), or $25 per person (non-member price); purchase tickets here. The evening will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
