Observed annually on the anniversary of the 1635 patent for the first smoke-free malt-drying machine, this day commemorates the moment that reshaped beer history. While smoke-free brews gained popularity in the centuries that followed, breweries like Schlenkerla have kept the rauchbier flame alive. Shelter pays tribute to these smoky, storied lagers with a curated lineup of six draft selections, including German classics and modern global interpretations.
