May is Lamb-tastic, Lamb Jam Restaurant Month

Buzz

The American Lamb Board’s annual month-long competition challenges chefs to create innovative lamb dishes in celebration of family operated farms and ranches raising sheep in the United States. This year’s seven-city Lamb Jam Restaurant Month features the creations of some of the most talented chefs in Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Denver, San Francisco, Seattle and here in Washington, DC.  Each chef has created an American lamb-focused small plate that is featured on their menu and secretly tasted by a panel of local dining judges. The chef whose dish scores the highest out of all other chefs in their city will be named their city’s Lamb Jam Master. (They’ll also win a trip to New York City to compete for the title of National Lamb Jam Master as part of the Lamb Jam Finale event at Platform by the James Beard Foundation.)

And, you have the opportunity to vote for your favorite lamb dish. The chef with the highest number of votes will win the People’s Choice Award and you could win a $250 gift card to the participating restaurant of your choice
